About Dr (Mrs) Linda Mafo Akpami
Dr (Mrs) Linda Mafo Akpami is a seasoned environmental and social risk management consultant with a demonstrated history of working in key developmental sectors including water, agriculture, infrastructure, education, health & sanitation, mining, oil & gas amongst others. She has a PhD in Environmental Engineering, an MSc in Environmental Resource Management and a BSc in Chemistry, with various international certifications including the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF), ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems (EMS), ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management system, climate change solutions amongst others. Linda has a track record in supporting the Nigerian Government and private institutions at the national and sub-national levels to formulate or comply with environmental and social risk policies, in accordance with the Nigerian laws and Multi-lateral Organization’s frameworks. She consults on donor funded projects including those of the World Bank, African Development Bank, French Development Bank and United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
With decades of experience, Dr Linda has supervised several project teams in conducting environmental assessments, environmental policies and plans development, waste management, erosion management, flood assessment, rain-water harvesting, agricultural sustainability, water and sanitation development, social assessments, labor management procedures, gender mainstreaming & gender-based violence assessments, waste to wealth assessments, climate change resilience amongst others. Amongst others, she is a professional member of Nigerian Environmental Society, Chemical Society of Nigeria, and Centre for Environment and Development Studies (CEMUS).
She is also the Managing Director/CEO of DevAfrique Resources Limited, a consultancy firm that believes in developing Africa through imbibing best international practices and technologies in environmental and social risk management.
